What does it test?
This kit measures your vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D) levels from a small blood sample.
Why use it?
Vitamin D is crucial for bone health, immune function, and many other bodily processes. A deficiency is common, especially in regions with limited sun exposure. This test helps you know whether supplementation or lifestyle changes are needed.
How do you take it?
Use the included lancet to prick your finger
Collect a drop(s) of blood into the sample card
Seal and send back using the included materials
The lab analyzes the sample and reports your vitamin D status
How long until results?
Usually within a few days to a couple of weeks (depending on the lab). (Purovitalis does not specify exact turnaround on the page I saw.)
How do you interpret the results?
You’ll get a numeric value in ng/mL or nmol/L. Based on that, you can see if you're in a deficient, insufficient, optimal, or high range. If low, you may want to adjust sun exposure, diet, or vitamin D supplementation.
Any precautions or limitations?
Ensure you follow instructions exactly (e.g. proper blood drop, correct sealing).
This is not a medical diagnosis—consult a healthcare professional with the results.
Certain health conditions (kidney disease, fat absorption issues, medications) may affect vitamin D metabolism, so results should be interpreted in context.
